GoTrusted VPN Reviews Ultrasurf

by Normand Kneebone

GoTrusted VPN has been going after a segment of the market that others have been ignoring for a while–the average user and small business owner. How do we know that? Because GoTrusted VPN is the only VPN service around that advertises on TV. But like so many other “As Seen On TV” products, is GoTrusted VPN all sizzle and no steak? Read on for our full review.

But be warned, if you are looking for a full-featured, pro-level VPN service with all of the bells and whistles, then you might be a bit disappointed. GoTrusted VPN keeps things simple since their target market is the casual user. So if you are an advanced user, you may want to look elsewhere.

For everyone else, though, GoTrusted VPN is a great option that has all the features that you want, the fast performance that you need, and the simplicity and ease of use that you require.

How much is it?

GoTrusted is not only simple to use. It is also simple to buy. They offer a single price level at an affordable $5.99 per month for individuals. That is probably music to the ears of the casual user who has looked at other services and gotten lost in pricing charts. There are more pricing options for businesses, but we won’t be talking about them here.

A big plus for GoTrusted VPN is their offer of a 7-day free trial, but you do have to input payment information in order to get it. So if you end up not liking the service, remember to cancel within that 7-day window to avoid charges for the first month of service.

If you set up to pay with PayPal, you account will be charged a single penny during the 7-day trial period, a fairly standard “test charge” to make sure that the account is set up properly.

How is their customer support?

Like most other VPN services, GoTrusted VPN does not offer phone support, but they do go one step beyond email support by offering chat-based tech support during standard US business hours. If you need support outside of normal business hours, you will need to submit an email and be patient.

What’s the deal with privacy and security? ultrareach internet corp

If you ask GoTrusted VPN how, exactly, they provide safety and security to their customers, you are likely to get a round-about answer that doesn’t really tell you anything useful. That is fairly standard in the VPN industry.

But if you do your research, you will find that they use OpenVPN, PPTP, and L2TP protocols with as high as 256-bit encryption. When you connect to GoTrusted VPN, their systems give you the best security possible automatically based on your location.

The simplicity here ties back into what we said at the beginning. If you are an advanced user who wants to customize their settings exactly, you probably won’t like the lack of flexibility. For the rest of the world that just wants a product that works, this is probably a good option.

What is their website like?

The GoTrusted VPN site is simple and easy to use. What more could you ask for?

Is signing up a hassle?

We signed up for the 7-day trial to see what the process was like, and it was a breeze. We paid with PayPal, go a nearly instantaneous confirmation email, downloaded the software onto our Windows machine, and were up and running in a matter of minutes.

We had no complaints about setting up GoTrusted VPN. It really could not have been simpler.

On what platforms can I use GoTrusted VPN?

Versatility is another area that will probably deter advanced users from selecting GoTrusted VPN. They cover the big four–Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS–but they stop short of offering options for other platforms like Linux or centralized service on a router or server. Like everything else we’ve discussed, this won’t matter much for the general user, but advanced users probably won’t be happy.

The Bottom Line

We liked a lot of things about GoTrusted VPN. It is user-friendly and built to make things as painless as possible for the average consumer. They provide somewhat better than average technical support, have an easy-to-use-website, and their product sets up in minutes and works well without any tinkering.

On the other hand, GoTrusted VPN does a lot that will likely infuriate many advanced users like being a bit guarded about exact specs, not providing access to any advanced settings, having to type in your CC# even if you just want to try the service out for a week, and being somewhat limited in terms of country coverage.

Still, GoTrusted VPN is a good option for the majority of users out there, users who put a premium on usability over advanced functionality. So if you are concerned about your privacy online but don’t want to deal with a lot of setup, GoTrusted VPN is a simple option that you will likely love.
